Farmhouse -sleeping up to 12 people

This French farmhouse was completely renovated to a high standard in 2002 with all modern conveniences while retaining the original character of the farmhouse. It easily accommodates 12 people with two per room and cots for babies. Set on top of a hill at the end of a small lane and surrounded by the property's own hundred acres, Lavaud farmhouse offers wonderful views over the surrounding Dordogne countryside. A perfect holiday place to relax and unwind......

The farmhouse accommodation consists of 3 levels.

The ground floor

The farmhouse kitchen has been tastefully modernised and is well equipped.

There is a large american fridge/freezer dispensing ice-cubes and iced water, a double range cooker, two butler sinks, plenty of utensils, crockery and appliances, and most importantly a dish washer!

The hand crafted oak chairs and large dresser and side unit are in traditional styles of the region.

Patio doors lead from the kitchen on to the terrace which is equipped with table, chairs and a barbeque for alfresco dining on those balmy summer evenings.

The view from the patio doors is out across the valley and from the windows above the butler sinks the Chateau de Valade can be seen on the opposite hillside. In the lounge a bay window with window seat allows a panoramic view across the valley over woodlands towards fruit orchards in the distance. ……

From the terrace you look across the courtyard to the indoor games room. This converted barn has been tastefully renovated as an indoor games room with fitness machines, ping pong and pool table. Along with the farmhouse the indoor games room is fully central heated making it ideal for out of season lets.

The first floor

The main bathroom is light and airy with a large opening window looking out on the same views as the lounge. It has a bath with shower, bidet, toilet, and basin.

Along the landing is a further bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. Both are fully tiled and are fitted with quality Villeroy and Boch sanitary ware.

On the same level there are three bedrooms, one double and two twin rooms. On the same level there is a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. An iron and ironing board, drying rack, and a work surface with stainless steel sink.

The second floor

The second floor is the result of the conversion of a very spacious attic. The original oak roof structure has been left exposed, warm oak flooring laid, and the area divided in a way which gives a comfortable homely feeling. This area comprises a further three bedrooms, one double and two twin, and a further shower room with the same specifications as on the first floor. Velux roof windows in each room give plenty of light and views across the valleys.

Prices are per week.
Inclusive of electricity, gas, heating and bed linen.
Saturday to Saturday bookings arriving at 5pm and departing by 10.am.
A deposit of 30% will confirm your booking along with receipt of the booking form.
The remaining balance payable 8 weeks before the holiday.
